Wanted Georgetown man arrested for burglary, theft

47abc April 23, 2021 GEORGETOWN, Del. – A Georgetown man is behind bars after a burglary incident that happened Thursday night. Just after 9:30 p.m., troopers responded to a residence off of Farm Lane for a reported theft in progress. The female resident told police that an unknown male subject was on her property and removing items from her vehicle. The victim reportedly fired a single shot from her handgun away from the suspect towards the woods to scare him off, but he did not leave. When officers arrived on scene, they found the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Carlton Breasure, walking on a dirt lane towards the police vehicles, holding items in his hands. Police gave commands to drop the items, but Breasure failed to comply and began walking away. Breasure failed to comply with commands to stop and resisted arrest.

Police responded to a home at 9:35 p.m. on Farm Lane after a woman said an unknown man was on her property removing items from her car, said Master Cpl. Heather Pepper of the Delaware State Police. The woman told police that the man had knocked on her front door, but she did not open it because she did not recognize him. Pepper said the woman asked who it was but he did not respond. The woman told the man to leave her property and he poured a liquid substance on her front step before walking toward her parked vehicles, Pepper said. The woman said she fired off a shot from her handgun, but it did not scare off the man.
