New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) data reporting 100 new cases of COVID-19 in Eddy County last Wednesday left some officials questioning the accuracy, as the county had been on a downward trajectory in previous weeks.
Eddy County Manager Allen Davis said the number of new cases reported had been in single digits over several days during the previous two-week period, causing the County to ask for clarification from the State.
In a news release from Eddy County, DOH State Epidemiologist Director Dr. Christine Ross and Dr. Dan Sosin, DOH medical epidemiologist, said a delay in updating data drove an inaccuracy in the data release.
