About 100 Carlsbad High students gathered at the school's flagpoles Tuesday morning to support their fellow classmates who are LGBTQ. They're also pushing back.
The student-led walkouts happened at Carlsbad High School and Sage Creek High Schools. Some parents also joined to show their support. Senior Kayley Teagle organized them.
The U.S. government still faces economic peril as the debt ceiling debate remains unresolved. In other news, Carlsbad High School students walked out of class Tuesday to protest what they say is a lack of support for the LGBTQ community.
