So I felt guilty for even praying for that. I’m not saying, ‘Hey, God, I hope someone dies’,” Cossette said. “I was praying for a heart, actively, but I knew where it came from and that was my biggest struggle. In Florida, Cossette would later learn, a young mother was praying, too. She was hoping that her 6-year-old son might recover from the car crash that left him with a serious brain injury but doctors told her it was not to be.
