Others scroll through Tinder and Instagram. When Carlos Reynoso and Polo Abram Bañuelos moved to Portland from Los Angeles six years ago, they made tacos.  “We were looking for other brown queer individuals who could relate to us and make friends,” Bañuelos explains. “Growing up in the kitchen with my aunt and mom—everyone just laughing and joking—that s the feeling I want to give people when they come to visit us.”

Pachamama Coffee Cooperative wins sustainability award Shares The Specialty Coffee Association announced that farmer-owned roaster and retailer of organic coffee Pachamama Coffee Cooperative is the winner of the 2021 Sustainability Awards for Business Model. Pachamama Coffee is at 130 G St. in Davis and in midtown Sacramento. The annual award recognizes innovative business models shown to expand and promote sustainability in coffee, while inspiring others to pursue similar endeavors. The award will be presented by the association on May 12-13. “From its foundation, Pachamama Coffee was designed to be a sustainable coffee chain, directly linking smallholder farmers with the consumers of their coffee” said Thaleon Tremain, the cooperative’s CEO and cofounder.
