The masterminds behind the escape of former Nissan-Renault boss Carlos Ghosn –
hiding him in a box on a private plane to skip bail and flee house arrest in Japan – have claimed they were tricked into the scheme.
The US father and son private security team of Michael and Peter Taylor have told a Japanese court that when they met with Ghosn on the day of his escape, it was meant to be a face-to-face discussion about options, not a rehearsal.
However, sensing freedom was within his grasp, the escape team claimed Ghosn
insisted he be taken immediately while hiding in a box on a private plane.
