A second person has been arrested in connection with a shooting that wounded a 17-year-old man in far East El Paso last week.
Oscar Contreras, 25, was taken into custody Tuesday by El Paso police gang investigators and members of the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, police officials said.
Contreras was booked into jail on an aggravated assault charge.
He is accused in a drug deal-related shooting that wounded 17-year-old Joey Joel Gonzalez at 11:45 p.m. June 3 at Carlos Bombach Park in the 12400 block of Nina Pearl Drive, documents state.
On Saturday, police arrested Jonathan Alexander Meraz, 17, in the case after he surrendered to the SWAT team at his home in the 3200 block of Merry Meadow.

A fight between two women resulted in one of them being stabbed Sunday afternoon at Cielo Vista Mall, El Paso police said.
One woman was taken to a hospital with wounds that police said were not life threatening as officers searched for the other woman who fled the scene, police said.
The stabbing occurred during a fight between two teenage girls outside of the Macy s department store, according to a report by Channel 7-KVIA.
