El Paso artist s mural helps celebrate National Endangered Species Day

View Comments Just in time for National Endangered Species Day, El Paso muralist Victor Mask Casas put the finishing touches Friday on his mural at Carlos Bakery in Sunland Park, New Mexico. Endangered Species Day encourages people to learn about wildlife habitats and the actions necessary to protect them. The mural depicts the migration of species familiar along the border, including humans, butterflies, bats and hummingbirds. It is on an expansive western wall of the busy bakery at 2101 McNutt Road. Casas said the theme was a natural for him, as he has done several murals having to do with veterans and migration.
