The Missouri Southern women’s basketball team fended off a late rally by Northeastern State to win 68-61 behind
Madi Stokes’ 20 points inside the NSU Events Expo in Tahlequah.
Southern (6-8, 6-8 MIAA) was led offensively by Stokes with 20 points shooting 8-of-12 from the field, 4-of-4 from the free throw line while collecting 18 rebounds.
Carley Turnbull had 16 points and five rebounds while dishing out three assists.
Layne Skiles had eight points going 2-of-4 from behind the three-point line,

JOPLIN, Mo. – The Missouri Southern women’s basketball team utilized a strong second-half that saw the Lions dominate from the free throw line and come away with a 67-56 win over Missouri Western on Robert Corn Court inside the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
Southern (4-3, 4-3 MIAA) was led in scoring by
Carley Turnbull as she poured in 16 points and added four rebounds and three assists.
Layne Skiles scored 13 points on 5-of-7 from the field and 3-of-4 from long-range, while pulling down five rebounds.
