New clinic at Domino Plaza in Shawnee receives signage

The Shawnee News-Star The sign is now visible atop the new building, as SSM Health Medical Group is closing in on completion of its new construction project, which began Dec. 9 just south of Interstate 40 at 4651 N. Harrison in Domino Plaza. Crews are wrapping up details inside the 33,000 square foot ambulatory medical building. Originally planned to be done by late 2020, the project is moving forward and is slated to begin seeing patients in May, SSM Health St. Anthony-Shawnee Hospital Communications and Marketing Consultant Carla Tollett said recently. The facility is planned to house primary care and urgent care services on the first floor. The second floor will feature a women’s services suite with specialty offices for OB/GYN providers, mammography services, aesthetics and dermatology. Physical therapy services also will be offered with a separate external entrance.

Over 700 teachers, education staff receive COVID-19 vaccine

The Shawnee News-Star About 745 teachers and education staff from various schools in Pottawatomie County participated in a COVID-19 vaccination clinic Thursday and Friday hosted by SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital-Shawnee and the Pottawatomie County Health Department. The school districts with educators attending the clinic included Shawnee, Tecumseh, Asher, Bethel, Dale, Earlsboro, Maud, Macomb, McLoud, South Rock Creek, North Rock Creek, Gordon Cooper Technology Center, Grove and Pleasant Grove. According to Carla Tollett, SSM Health communications and marketing consultant, those who received their first shots will receive their second round of shots March 25-26.
