Wetzel Commission Meet for Regular Session

The Commissioners of Wetzel County on February 16, 2021 held their regular meeting at the Commission Office. All Commissioners were present. Commission President Lisa Heasley after leading in the Pledge of Allegiance, called the meeting to order.
A motion to accept the minutes of the previous meeting February 8, 2021 was given unanimous approval by the commission.
Also a Revision to the budget for the Sheriff’s Department was approved unanimously by the commissioners.

By Rick Loy - Staff Writer | Jan 13, 2021 The Wetzel County Commission held a regular scheduled meeting January 5,2021, at the County Commission office to elect officers. Commissioner Lisa Heasley called meeting to order following the Pledge of Allegiance. All commissioners were present. Commissioner Greg Morris made a motion to nominate Commissioner Heasley as the President of the Commission. It was seconded by newly elected Commissioner Carla McBee and unanimously approved. McBee made the motion that Morris be the Vice-President. Heasley seconded the motion to approve. The vote was unanimous. One item addressed was the set schedule of dates for 2021 by Assessor Scott Lemley on the board of review and equalization pending the State approval of the dates. This was given unanimous approval by the Commission.
Wetzel County Officials Sworn in by Judge Cramer

Timothy Haught is sworn in as Wetzel County Prosecutor by Judge Jeffery D. Cramer.
Wetzel Counties elected officials were officially sworn into office on December 9, 2020, at the Wetzel County Court House by the Honorable Judge Jeffrey Cramer.
Elected officials sworn in included Wetzel County Prosecutor Timothy Haught who will begin his sixth straight term in the position.
Sheriff Michael Kootnz took the oath of office to begin his second term, while Scott Lemly was also sworn in to another term.
Carla McBee the newly elected County Commissioner was sworn into office by Cramer.
