A REJECTED plan to site timber-clad lodges for holiday use on agricultural land in Carleton has been resubmitted. The application site lies to the north of Carla Beck House and permission is being granted for the change of use of the land to allow the building of eight single-storey lodges. A similar application on land to the east of Carla Beck House was refused on March 10 this year on the grounds it would cause social and environmental harm, would erode the open nature of the area and have an unduly detrimental effect upon the open character and appearance of the surrounding landscape setting.
