The third cohort of Reginald F. Lewis Scholars were pinned during the annual Universities of Louisiana Black Male Summit, held in New Orleans on June 21-22, 2023. Two students from each of the nine University of Louisiana System schools were presented as members of the third cohort. Representing ULM in cohort three are Myles Goldman, a sophomore majoring in History, and Edward Williams, a sophomore majoring in Accounting.
During the Spring 2023 semester, members of the ULM Reginald F. Lewis Scholar program had the opportunity to study abroad in Paris, France for a week. Facilitator Tommie Nelson, Retention Coordinator of ULM TRIO Programs, and TRIO Participant Carl Whitlock, ULM Reginald F. Lewis Scholar, along with other RFL Scholars representing each university in the UL System.
The UL System hosted the 2022 Annual Reginald F. Lewis (RFL) Scholars Retreat in Baton Rouge August 23-24. The four ULM RFL Scholars include: from Cohort 1 Carl Whitlock and Ernest Wyatt and from Cohort 2 Braxton A. Jackson and Eric J. Lair, Jr.
On April 5, the University of Louisiana Monroe's Reginald F. Lewis Scholars Program students and TRIO Student Support Services participated in the University of Louisiana System Day at the state Capitol in Baton Rouge.
