The Willmar City Council will conduct its Truth-in-Taxation hearing Monday, Dec. 4, at 6:30 p.m. before it approves its final budget and property tax levy.
The public hearing opened at the Monday, Nov. 20, meeting was continued until Tuesday due to the need to have a supermajority of the Willmar City Council to approve street improvement projects, and the absence of Councilors Tom Butterfield and Michael O'Brien last week.
Many Suite Liv'n properties in the city have been operating without a renewed rental license for several months as the owners made required improvements to the properties. The memorandum of understanding was for the council to endorse the process the city has followed in working with the owners.
The Willmar City Council on Monday approved a contract extension with architect and design firm BKV Group to prepare plans to renovate the Willmar Auditorium for a new city hall.
