HALIFAX Halifax Regional Police have ruled that the sudden death of a Dartmouth woman on Sunday night was not suspicious. Police say at 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 31, officers responded to a report of a sudden death in a residence on Rosedale Drive in Dartmouth. Police say the Medical Examiner has completed an autopsy and ruled the death not suspicious. Police are investigating a sudden death on Rosedale Drive,Dartmouth. HRP say that they responded around 930pm, Sunday night,to find a deceased female inside a unit of an apartment building. An autopsy is scheduled today. HALIFAX Fire crews in Halifax have extinguished a large fire at a construction site that sent heavy black smoke through the city’s north end on Wednesday morning. Shortly after 9 a.m. on Wednesday, fire crews were called to a building under construction at the 3260 Kempt Rd., on the corner of Columbus St. Halifax Fire deputy chief Kevin Dean says when crews arrived, they discovered a building under construction was on fire, along with a scissor jack and a pile of construction debris. Dean says crews had the fire under control ‘fairly quickly’, and it is now extinguished. No injuries were reported and Dean says the damage to the construction site was ‘minimal’.
