Coach Gill Leaves Town

First-team coach Matt Gill has left the Blues after two and a half years at the club.
Gill, 40, joined Town as part of former boss Paul Lambert’s staff in October 2018 from Norwich City, where he had been U23s coach.
Having been caretaker-manager alongside Bryan Klug for the 2-0 win at Accrington following Lambert’s departure, Gill has continued to work alongside new manager Paul Cook.
However, the former Exeter, Norwich and Bristol Rovers man is now moving on with Cook planning to bring in new faces over the summer having already named another first-team coach, Gary Roberts, when he took charge.
Cornell: Homework Paid Off

Keeper Dai Cornell says his homework paid off having saved Joe Pigott’s penalty during yesterday’s 0-0 draw with AFC Wimbledon, the Welshman’s first appearance under new manager Paul Cook.
Cornell, who joined the Blues last summer after leaving Northampton, hadn’t played since the 3-2 home defeat to Swindon in January prior to yesterday’s game his seventh League One start for Town and his 12th appearance in all competitions.
“I did my homework in the week,” he said when asked about the 22nd-minute penalty which was awarded for Mark McGuinness s pull on Pigott.

Keeper-Coach Walker Leaves Town

Town have announced that goalkeeper-coach Jimmy Walker is leaving the club with immediate effect with Blues boss Paul Cook set to recruit a replacement.
In the meantime academy keeper-coach Carl Pentney will temporarily work with the club s first-team glovesmen.
“I have thanked Jimmy for his work at the club,” Cook told the club website. “I explained to him that I just want to look to freshen things up right across the board.
“Jimmy knows the game and change often happens in football when a new manager takes over. I want to wish him all the best for the future.
