The Ottawa Police Service believes incidents of racial profiling or sexual harassment should be enough for the chief to suspend an officer without pay, according to a report to the police services board.
The police force is taking advantage of a provincial consultation on regulations for the Community Safety and Policing Act, designed to replace the Police Services Act, to suggest changes to the rules governing police suspensions.
