New Regina mayor led all candidates in expenses for 2020 municipal campaign

  REGINA Mayor Sandra Masters spent the most on her 2020 municipal election campaign, according to data released by the City of Regina Based on elections rules, all candidates from the 2020 Municipal election were required to share their expense forms from their campaigns. During the 2020 election campaign, candidates for mayor could spend a maximum of $68,776, while candidates for councillor had a limit of $11,393. Mayor Sandra Masters spent the most, $68,289.56, while receiving $67.891.36 in contributions. Former mayor Michael Fougere was the second highest spender, dolling out $64,047.21, while also raising $63,573.74. The third highest spender was Jerry Flegel, who spent $52,986.35 and received $31,396.76, after leaving his councillor seat to try and run for mayor.

Hours turned into days of searching for survivors, only to end up with three people gone: Carl Humphreys, Scott Parsons and Molly Hubbard. Ski resorts honored their lives Thursday morning and those who did survive the terrifying slide. Watkins remembers that day vividly, losing his friend 58-year-old Humphreys to the avalanche. “He was a free spirit, he was an adventurer. He was always living on the edge. He probably was one of the most profound water kayakers of the area,” he said of Humphreys.

KXLY January 7, 2021 7:25 AM Erin Robinson Updated: KELLOGG, Idaho It has been one year since an avalanche at Silver Mountain claimed the lives of three skiers. To honor those lost in the tragedy, the Friends of the Idaho Panhandle Avalanche Center stopped all chairlifts on Thursday for a moment of pause. Lifts were halted at 11:04 a.m, the same time the avalanche was triggered and took the lives of Carl Humphreys, Scott Parsons and Molly Hubbard. One minute later, a memorial bell placed on the Wardner Traverse rung in remembrance of those lives lost, and in support for the survivors and the first responders who assisted in the rescues.
