This truck belonged to Silas Hall s Transfer Line just after World War I. It was used for hauling freight from the NP (Northern Pacific Railroad) depot to stores around town as well as for other kinds of moving. The picture was taken in front of the railroad freight office. Before the truck, Silas Hal used teams of horses and wagons which he kept at 415 Main (now Washington Street). PHOENIX (AP) An 18-year-old U.S. Navy sailor from Arizona who died at Pearl Harbor was buried with full military honors Friday after his remains were identified last year, about 80 years after the Japanese attack.
Carl Johnson, a U.S. Navy seaman 1st Class and a Purple Heart recipient, was aboard the USS West Virginia near Hawaii when multiple torpedoes hit the side of the battleship to which he was assigned in 1941. About 100 crewman on the vessel died.
Johnson was buried at Greenwood Memory Lawn cemetery in Phoenix with a 21-gun salute and the folding and presentation of the U.S. flag to the family.

PHOENIX - An Arizona man killed at Pearl Harbor was laid to rest on Jan. 15, after his remains were finally identified in 2020, nearly 80 years later after the Japanese attack on Hawaii.
Carl Johnson, who left North High School early to join the Navy at the age of 16, was killed during the first few hours of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
