The event was open to ages five and up with categories for children, duos and adults. Prizes were to be awarded later in the evening to winners of the chalk art competition.
In order to adhere to coronavirus health guidelines, participants were spaced out on the sidewalks and the entire street was closed down for visitors to look at the art while maintaining social distancing. However, hardly anyone wore a mask.
Despite the pandemic, The Hub on Canal s event director Miranda Price said this year they had the most participants. And she hopes to continue growing the event in the coming years.
