The Walton Arts Center s Corporate Leadership Council played host to the 12th annual Masquerade Ball on Feb. 25 at the arts center in Fayetteville. Tom Ward of Walmart served as this year s honorary chairman with co-chairmen Jeff Clapper of 8th & Walton and Tony Waller of Walmart. The event helped raise more than $180,000, a record, that will go to support the arts education work of the Walton Arts Center in our community.
The American Heart Association marked "99 Years of Saving Lives" at the annual Heart Ball on Feb. 24 at the Rogers Convention Center. The benefit s 850 guests helped the nonprofit organization raise some $850,000 to help support its mission to be "a relentless force for a world of longer healthier lives," Andi Clinton, corporate market director for the Heart Ball, tells me. Sheila Gamble of Sanofi and Vinima Shekhar of Walmart served as this year s Heart Ball chairwomen.
Jackson L. Graves Foundation supporters gathered for a Valentine s Day pre-game at the nonprofit organization s 14th annual Ooh! La, la! chocolate and wine pairing benefit Feb. 9 at the Fayetteville Public Library.
Champions of the Children s Safety Center of Washington County gathered for breakfast or a luncheon Feb. 21 at the Fayetteville Public Library for the seventh annual Handprints for Hope event. Guests at the two events helped raise more than $47,000 to help support the center s programs.
The Junior League of Northwest Arkansas held its 11th annual Moonlight Masquerade benefit Feb. 3 at Heroncrest in Springdale. Proceeds from the evening support the league s mission of "promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving our community through the action and leadership of our trained volunteers."
