Microsoft, big tech and medical companies push for COVID vaccine passports Emergency Notices
WASHINGTON – A coalition of major tech and healthcare companies – including Microsoft and Salesforce – is pushing for COVID vaccination passports.
They formed a group called the Vaccine Credential Initiative. Other members include the Mayo Clinic, Oracle, Miter and the Carin Alliance – including board members, including Apple.
“VCI’s vision is to enable individuals to obtain an encrypted digital copy of their immunization IDs to be stored in a digital wallet of their choice. Those without a smartphone could receive paper printed with QR codes containing verifiable W3C credentials, ”the group said in a statement from its foundation on Jan. 14.
