BEIRUT: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Wednesday his country will “continue to exert all possible efforts alongside the Lebanese political parties to overcome the crisis facing the formation of the new government.”
Shoukry, who was visiting Lebanon for the first time since the explosion the destroyed Beirut’s Port eight months ago, denounced “the ongoing political deadlock preventing the formation of a government of specialists capable of meeting the needs of the brotherly Lebanese people and achieving stability, not only for Lebanon but for the region and Egypt.”
Shoukry passed on a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to his Lebanese counterpart, President Michel Aoun, that “stressed Egypt’s solidarity with Lebanon and its support of the efforts exerted to form a new government, as this would open the door for regional and international support and therefore serve the common interests of the region’s countries, but primarily those

Lebanon confirmed Thursday that the national vaccination campaign against the coronavirus will include everyone living on its territories, regardless of their nationality or residency status.
World Health Organization s Representative in Lebanon Iman Shankiti told reporters that during a meeting with Health Minister Hamad Hassan, her host had confirmed that the vaccination plan covered all those residing in Lebanon, including refugees.
Lebanon expects to start COVID-19 vaccinations on Monday.
The Minister announced this week that all the necessary technical and logistical matters have been secured through a group of donors to start the inoculations.

Caretaker Foreign Minister Charbel Wehbe on Monday sent a letter to all Lebanese embassies around the world asking them to encourage expats to provide medical assistance for crisis-hit Lebanon amid a surge in coronavirus cases.
In his letter , Wehbe asked the embassies to seek assistance from Lebanese expats and civil and international bodies capable of providing much-needed assistance at the level of medical equipment, and all kinds of medicines, especially those related to confronting the coronavirus pandemic.
