Great-grandmother Joan King, 95, faced having to go into hospital because she was struggling at home. But Acorn Stairlifts stepped-in and provided a free stairlift, through a charity partnership with Marie Curie – which is supporting Joan. “It’s been absolutely wonderful,” said Joan, from Penarth. “I can be at home with my husband, Ted, thanks to this equipment.” Caren Larkman-Ayre, for Acorn Stairlifts, said: “Stories like Joan’s are the reason we joined forces with Marie Curie. We’re so pleased to be supporting the work undertaken by the charity.” As part of the initiative, Acorn installs up to 60 free stairlifts a year for patients.
