Gov. Jay Inslee visited Vancouver Friday afternoon to deliver a message: To gather, go outside.
The governor stopped at the Grant House, the historic building on Officers Row, to kick off his “Take It Outside” campaign aimed at stemming the latest surge of COVID-19 in the state.
“We have discovered a secret weapon against the COVID virus. It’s a weapon that is available to all of us, it is free, it is open pretty much every day of the week, it’s accessible to people of all ages and all circumstances, and that is the most beautiful outsides on the planet today,” Inslee said. “In the next several months, let’s take it outside.”

Gov. Jay Inslee will be in Vancouver on Friday to announce Clark College’s newest programs endorsed by the state’s Career Launch program and visit a COVID-19 vaccination site on campus organized by the college.
Inslee will be part of a roundtable discussion hearing from Clark students, instructors and businesses involved with Career Launch, a state program that’s part of Career Connect Washington to provide students with opportunities for both classroom learning and paid work experience.
Recently, the 2021-23 biennial budget provided additional resources and funding to expand Career Connect Washington, which has launched 76 programs since its inception in 2018.
