Royal Blackburn Hospital. A MAN who was being treated at hospital spat at staff and shouted racist abuse at them.
Blackburn magistrates heard when security officers tried to turn his face away so Christopher Dale Murphy could not spit on them be began lashing out with his arms and legs and one of them was kneed in the groin. Police officers who came to their assistance were also spat at and subjected to racist abuse. One of them looked into the next cubicle where he said there was an elderly lady who was trembling with fear and clearly extremely distressed by the defendant s behaviour.

FOUR drug-dealers have been taken off the streets of East Lancashire thanks to a series of stings by dedicated officers. A series of investigations, which began last year, saw four men jailed this month following separate operations into drug dealing in East Lancashire. The dealers were arrested and later jailed thanks to a work from officers in the force’s targeted crime team, who investigate organised crime groups and their members connected to the supply of class A drugs in communities
. Two of the men, July Jacob Barton, 20 and Gurdial Singh, 27, were seen driving around Blackburn in a silver Ford Focus attending meetings with a number of suspected drug users in July of last year.
