Element Partners’ bid to buy the World Poker Tour may be in jeopardy following a surprise bid from Bally’s Corporation.

The global entertainment company made an unsolicited offer to buy the WPT’s current owner, Allied Entertainment, on Friday. The $100 million bid can be cash or a combination of cash and stocks, according to a statement from Allied Entertainment.

Dustin Dirksen, who hails from the great state of Iowa, bagged the biggest stack on Day 1 at the $5,000 buy-in WPT Venetian in Las Vegas. The biggest event in Nevada since COVID-19 attracted a whopping 937 entries, with 224 of them advancing to Day 2.
