By Stephen Nakrosis American Electric Power Monday said Cardinal Operating Co. was seeking bids for coal on behalf of AEP Generation Resources Inc. The coal would supply Cardinal Power Plant Units 1, 2, and 3 in Jefferson County, Ohio. AEP Energy Supply, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Electric Power, owns Cardinal Unit 1. Non-profit corporation Buckeye Power Inc. owns Cardinal Units 2 and 3. Proposals for spot coal for delivery starting in the fourth quarter of this year and lasting three months are being sought, as are proposals for term coal with delivery starting in the first quarter of next year and lasting up to three years, AEP said.
