As the story goes, the structures were not part of an alien invasion or secret cult society, but rather the ambitious plans of a man named Bill Lee. Leeâs idea was to create a self-sufficient, eco-friendly home on Cape Romano. He began working on the project in 1980, and by 1982 he was finished.
