You can just see the Sistine Chapel poking out of the back of the basilica and then we expect in the next hour if its anything like this morning thousands of people to fill the square. There are big screens up so they can see the chimneys clearly but as you say, this morning, here in the square people werent sure whether it was black or white smoke. People began to realize, no, we havent chosen a pope yet. Well see what happens later today. Thank you. Its the politics of washington but the politics of the vatican have people fascinated. Happening right now at the vatican, 115 cardinals who will elect the next pope have just returned to the Sistine Chapel after their lunch break and we could see white smoke in less than an hour or no smoke at all. Dozens of onlookers stood in the rain awaiting the first round this morning and black smoke rose from the Sistine Chapel. So far weve seen black smoke twice, just before 3 00 p. M. Yesterday and just before 7 00 a. M. Today. Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was elected in the fastest conclave. It came in day two of the conclave. Back in 2005, black smoke came in at 6 52 and white smoke came in about six hours later at 12 50 p. M. Joining me is george. Weve had no pope.
