Safeguarding of a prisoner. One to keep the prisoner safe, but to keep the public safe from them. Last night two of our officers failed that responsibility in a very significant way. It all started back in june when 23yearold that reek arnold broke away with his handcuffs on. It took a moment to catch him. Four more prisoners would escape before yesterday when they let a 24yearold shoplifter outsmarted them by faking sick. He bolted out the back door and ran into the subway station. Tune was recaptured at his group home. It made residents wonder if having a home in a neighborhood like that is a good idea. We have children, families.
