Local Elementary School Keeps Season Of Giving Going Strong
The holidays might be over, but the season of giving is still going strong at Clinton West Elementary.
On Wednesday morning, teachers and administrators gave out new blankets and backpacks for students.
The Walmart at 81st and Lewis gave the school $1000 to help buy all the school supplies. The Carbondale Assembly of God Church also donated a pair of shoes for every student.
Interim Principal Stephanie Fox said it is important to help families who are struggling during the pandemic. To continue to make that eye-to-eye and knowing, hey I m checking on you we care about you, Fox said. They are checking on us. We are coming together and being one.
