southern border lending additional support as another migrant caravan heads north through mexico. ohio congressman mike turner is a republican on the armed services committee and the intelligence committee and joins us now. great to have you in studio this morning. this brings the total number of troops supporting the border mission to over 4300. is this necessary and needed? just last week the armed services committee had a hearing where undersecretary rude from the department of defense testified the borders continues to be open. areas people can enter the united states unimpeded and caravans headed this way this is a dangerous situation to continue. united states has to take action and certainly as we look to trying to put additional troops on the border we look for them to have an impact. but admiral and the secretary both testified even though they re having an impact they aren t stopping the flow.
