Trinidad gets ‘Safe Travels’ stamp from WTTC, while 13 tourism businesses get CARPHA nod
Destination Trinidad has received the green light to receive tourists, as the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) granted the island its ‘Safe Travels’ stamp which is meant to indicate that the island is adhering to ‘the highest standards of health and safety’ and ‘global health protocols’.
Trinidad joins its sister isle, Tobago, with which earned the Safe Travels stamp from the WTTC in March 2021. At present, Trinidad and Tobago can receive only fully vaccinated non-nationals within its borders.

No party plans at hotels for New Year’s Eve

There are no parties or major events planned for hotel guests this year, as hotel restaurants and bars will close promptly at 10pm tonight in keeping with the Ministry of Health’s covid19 regulations.
Newsday spoke to a few hotels on Thursday and asked about their plans for hotel guests at midnight.
Earlier on Thursday morning, Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith issued a statement saying hotels and restaurants that have been advertising New Year’s Eve events will be visited by police.
