According to CHP, children under 2 years of age must ride in a rear-facing car seat, in the back seat of the vehicle unless they are 40 or more pounds or 40 inches or more in height.

On Saturday, July 10, Northwestern Medicine and the Kane County Safety Coalition are offering a bike rodeo and car seat safety check from 10 a.m. to noon. The free event will take place in the southwest parking lot at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, 300 Randall Road in Geneva.
The bike rodeo will include a bike safety check, safety stations, helmet fittings and a raffle. Participants are invited to ride through a bicycle obstacle course. Safety stations will provide information on proper hand signals, situational awareness and more. Participants should bring a bike and bike helmet and wear closed-toe shoes. The Batavia Bicycle Commission and Cykel Cycles bike shop are lending a helping hand.
