that s what steny hoyer said last hour. why don t you have a democratic process and get together. steny is stealing that stuff i wrote for him. i was a democrat until 88. well, then that would sort of make sense. do you think this is a failure for the white house ep if there is no vote today or it goes down and they can t get this health care bill through? i don t think it s a failure for the white house because, quite frankly, this is legislation which, if we re going to be honest about it, was started here in the house of representatives. it s mother and father, if you will, is here in the house. obviously, the white house wants to be involved in health care and fulfill some promises on that, but this work product, wherever it ends up, is the creation of the house of representatives. i don t think the senate is claiming it right now. it s like, listen, it s our issue. if it isn t good news today, then, you know what, you got to go back and figure out how to make the car run.
