congratulations to them. ford is about to go on a hiring spree. cnbc s bertha coombs is here with what s moving your money. how many jobs are we talking about? reporter: we re talking about quite a few, at least 5,000 here in the u.s., another 6,000 around the world. ford is looking to add some muscle to its car lineup next year. it s going to have 24 new models, including a new ford mustang, a new f-150 pickup. so as a result, they re going to need more muscle on their production line. in terms of u.s. jobs, that s going to mean 3300 jobs that will be salaried positions, mainly in research and development. 400 of those will be dedicated to power train development, if you re really interested in all of that stuff. focusing on battery-based technology. this is in addition to some 14,000 jobs that ford has added over the last couple of years. the car makers have really rebounded very strongly since the downturn. and ford, you will note, is the only u.s. automaker that didn t take a b
