police are questioning people that they believe to have a connection to a vehicle. they have spoken to the owner of the suv but do not consider them a suspect. police are also searching for a man scene on surveillance tape leaving the scene of the attempted bombing. the nypd says the person of interest is a white man in his 40s. inside the car investigators found three propane tanks, fireworks two full gasoline containers, alarm clocks and wire. all ingredients for a bomb that the nypd said would have caused a massive explosion and unleashed a significant fireball. also in the car were eight bags of nonexplosive grade fertilizer. . the white house described the attempted bombing as a terrorist attack. i think anybody that has the type of material that they have in a car in times square, i would say that that was intended
the hunt for a missing 4-year-old boy is called off for now. police scouring an irrigation canal in central california following reports a car seen crashing into the water wednesday. he was snatched from his grandmother s arms on tuesday by police say is the ex-boyfriend of the mother. reggie cumar explains what police found today in the yeah kaal. reporter: investigators spent most of saturday using sonar technology to search the canal for a 2003 silver toyota colol la, the car investigators believe jose rodriguez was driving when he abducted the boy on tuesday. while searching the water, they discovered the stolen red nissan truck and pulled it from the canal. since wednesday, investigators have recovered five stolen vehicles and none of them matched the car the suspected kidnapper was driving. sheriff adam christianson says they finally finished searching
