Car imports surged in the just concluded fiscal year thanks to reduced import tariff and release of pent-up demand among the country's middle-class amid the economy's gradual recovery from Covid-19.
According to Vietnam Customs, the number of imported cars in Vietnam rose 61 percent to 129,733 units in the first 10 months this year. Passenger vehicles saw a rise of 50 percent to more than 90,000 units.
