Top Fraser Downs pacers Armycaptin Hanover and Sunshine Boy squared off once again in the stretch with their Friday, April 5 match-up in the $10,000 Preferred Pace ending in another close call.
The winners of the last two editions of the Preferred Pace at Fraser Downs duked it out down the stretch in their rematch on Friday, March 22, with favoured Armycaptin Hanover besting trailing tier starter Sunshine Boy in a photo finish.
Armycaptin Hanover was debuting from a new stable on Friday night, but continued his winning ways at the Fraser Downs meet as he took the featured $10,000 Preferred Handicap Pace for trainer/driver Rod Therres.
Armycaptin Hanover toted a three-race winning streak into Monday’s co-featured $7,000 Open Pace for horses and geldings at Fraser Downs, and he rallied late to stretch the streak to four for trainer/driver Kelly Hoerdt.
It’s now three straight scores in the Open Pace at Fraser Downs for Armycaptin Hanover, who rolled to a 1:56 triumph in Monday evening’s $7,000 featured affair.
