West African leaders on Saturday opened a meeting in Ghana s capital Accra to decide whether to ease or ramp up sanctions against junta-ruled Mali, Burkina Faso and Guinea.
The meeting in the capital Ouagadougou discussed a "draft transition constitutional charter" drawn up by a junta-appointed commission, sources there said.
West African leaders will meet for a summit on 3 February in Ghana s capital Accra to assess the outcome of the Burkina missions and to decide whether it should impose sanctions as it has done in Mali and Guinea.
