View Comments Tramonte on July 30 was hiking on Camelback Mountain when she was reported missing at about 1 p.m. by a man who had been with her, according to a news release from Phoenix police spokesperson Sgt. Mercedes Fortune. Fortune on Monday referred to the man as a witness and identified him only as an off-duty Phoenix police officer. Law enforcement does not usually identify witnesses publicly. Officials did not specify how Tramonte and the man knew each other. While announcing the woman s body was found, Phoenix fire Captain Rob McDade referred to the pair as companion hikers.
