U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson says he supports passing a bill temporarily funding federal government obligations over a long-term solution because he wants to give the GOP-led House next session a chance to create a concrete solution. The Oshkosh Republican alongside U.S. Sens. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Mike Lee, R-Utah, Rick Scott, R-Fla., in a D.C. news conference said the plan they announced this week would fund the government through Feb. 3. They don’t want to force a government shutdown, but they also don’t want to see mandatory and discretionary spending to continue to grow beyond the nation’s annual revenue.
