Capital A Bhd, the parent company of AirAsia, has expressed interest to operate in Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (LTSAAS) in Subang soon with a new type of passengers targeted at the airport, in line with the recent proposed Subang Airport Regeneration Plan (SARP) announcement.
AirAsia plans to take on lease 15 additional aircraft to meet travel demand from China now that it has reopened its borders, according to the chief executive officer of the budget carrier’s parent company Capital A Bhd.
Capital A Bhd’s (formerly AirAsia Group Bhd) consolidated airlines carried over 7.8 million passengers in the fourth quarter of 2022 (4Q22), an increase of 187% year-on-year (y-o-y).
Capital A Bhd is optimistic about its growth potential this year following a strong rebound in travel demand post-Covid and expects to be out of the PN17 status by the end of the year, says chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes.
