City of Killeen offices remained closed due to inclement weather Wednesday, and itâs unclear when the city will reopen. Emergency services are still operational.
âRoad conditions will not allow safe collection of residential trash, so all collections have been cancelled for the week. Normal collections will resume Monday, February 22. Excess bagged trash may be placed curbside on your regular collection day next week to be picked up without additional charge,â according to the city.

Yolanda Shepard is the first Black woman to ever serve on the Mesquite commission that oversees appeals for personnel matters for the city, police and fire departments.
Mesquite City Council voted unanimously to appoint Shepard to the Civil Service Commission and Personnel/Trial Board last week and she was sworn in on Monday.
