Idaho Business Review’s 2021 awards feature a handful of Boise State alumni, faculty and donors for their leadership, integrity and commitment to excellence.
The publication’s CEO of Influence award recognizes talented business and nonprofit leaders throughout Idaho. Alumni who received this award are the following:

City seeks help naming new downtown Boise park
Boise is asking for submissions from the public for a new park being built at 11th and Bannock.

BOISE, Idaho The City of Boise is asking for submissions from the public for a new park being built at 11th and Bannock.
The park, which is currently under construction, will feature green space lined with tree as well as art, seating, a pedestrian alley, public restrooms, and bike storage.
The yet-unnamed park was funded by Boise, Capital City Development Corporation (CCDC) and Eleven Eleven West Jefferson, LLC. According to the Department of Parks and Recreation, several potential names have already been submitted, but the city wants to give the public another chance to weigh in before a name is picked.

More housing will come to downtown Boise’s western edge, but what it will look like is still undecided.
On Monday, Boise’s urban renewal agency Capital City Development Corporation’s board heard presentations from three developers looking to build income-restricted housing on Idaho Street. Two of the proposals are for 17 units, the maximum allowed on the .4 acre site, but the third hopes to develop nearly the whole block with 45 units by acquiring nearby parcels.
