OKLAHOMA CITY -
The Oklahoma County government approved of the sheriff’s department working with Good Caper Content, a production company with offices in New York and California, on a new true-crime show.
“This isn’t COPS, this isn’t Live PD,” Sheriff Tommie Johnson said to the county commission Monday. “This is us working together with our community, building these relationships and finding ways to keep our communities safe together.”
The commission eventually voted 2-1 to approve the contract with GCC. Carrie Blumert of district one was the sole vote against the partnership.
“I just have concerns with filming people while they’re being arrested or filming people while they’re interacting with law enforcement for the sake of a production or the sake of entertainment,” Blumert said after the meeting.
