That, that police knocked on the door and actually cleared residents out of their apartments so they could find the suspect. We are told the suspect was according to residents running from police when they fired, and shot and according to Phoenix Police they are saying the suspect is down. They have told me he is still here at the scene which is unusual if he is injured according to residents he is more than injured they are we are waiting for confirmation from Phoenix Police. About 20 units were evacuated in this police scene and most of those residents are at a Fast Food Restaurant just a short ways away, kind of waiting out until they can get back into their apartments. Apartment. The person in the apartment was able to get word to a Family Member who then called. The suspect presented a gun. Pointed it at the officers. One of the officers fired on the suspect ending the threat. Reporter we are told there are seven officers that actually confront had the suspect. We are told that suspect was in the hallway when he actually pointed that gun at officers. They of course returned fire. The suspect is dead here at the scene. We are told by neighbors a k9 that dragged that body out of the apartment. And Phoenix Police are confirming that that did indeed happen. They did use a k9 to help them retrieve that suspect from the apartment. Since they didnt know exactly what was going on inside the apartment. They add to the downtown art district. They cost about 2800 each and installed as part of a multimillion dollar project to make roosevelt more appealing. We heard some concerns from the community. But Monica Hernandez says after just a year, they are getting the boot. The pots have been the target of vandalism and the city has gotten numerous complaints. The main concern came down to walking space. The 15 plants weigh several hundred pounds each. Rn estimate on how much it will cost to remove and store them. They will be gone by the end of october.
