Muriel F. Gould, a former speech therapist and professional actor who built a home in Woods Hole in the mid-1960s, died April 20 at Bridges by Epoch in Mashpee. She was 92.
After moving to Woods Hole year-round in 1995, Ms. Gould became a member of the Cape Cod Theatre Project. She also participated with readings in Story Hour for Grownups at Woods Hole Public Library and was involved with Woods Hole Theater Company, for which she also sometimes served as dialect coach.
Ms. Gould had performed in regional theater, worked off-Broadway and in films. She also appeared in the soap operas âRyanâs Hopeâ and âLoving,â and had done radio commercials. She was a member of Actorsâ Equity Association.

Then everything shut down.
And so did hundreds of local people’s jobs, hobbies, creative outlets and social lives.
Unlike reopening restaurants, museums, art galleries and shops, it’s been nearly impossible to produce or welcome audiences to live theater shows and concerts for the past year beyond small outdoor, drive-in or one-actor/one-musician shows. There are glimmers of hope for live events in coming months, but many people believe large-group entertainment may be the last part of the arts and life to get back to “normal” once the pandemic eases.

REGION It’s a weekend for fine art:
• Encore Theatre will present “The Diaries of Adam and Eve,” by Mark Twain and adapted by director Sarah Glover Crawford, continuing for its second weekend. The show begins at 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Encore Theatre, 991 North Shore Drive, Lima.
Cost is $15 for adults and seniors and $10 for students, including college students with a school ID.
Seating is limited to 15% of capacity, or 42 tickets per performance. Masks are required. Request a ticket by leaving a message at the box office, 419-223-8866, including your name, phone number, date and number of tickets needed. A volunteer will call you back to fulfill ticket requests.
Ohio Northern to livestream play

ADA “The House of Bernarda Alba” will be staged and livestreamed at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26 and 27 and at 2 p.m. Feb. 27 and 28 at Ohio Northern University.
The play, by Federico Garcia Lorca, deals with women struggling to exert control over their own lives after the death of their father.
