Local Coffee Roasters To Open Third Mashpee Location

As the summer tourism season gets underway, Cape Cod Coffee is expanding to a seasonal location in the Popponesset Marketplace in Mashpee. Starting Memorial Day weekend, the local coffee roasters will be serving up hot coffee, espresso, cold brew, sandwiches and salads to residents and visitors in the New Seabury area. “We’re hoping to do at this location what we’ve done at the other locations: quality food, quality coffee, quality service,” said Jillian Manning, Cape Cod Coffee’s marketing director. “We really try to customize the coffee experience for people.” Cape Cod Coffee last year opened a new roasting facility on Evergreen Circle and also operates a café and restaurant in Mashpee Commons. The new seasonal location at Popponesset will be open weekends only until June and aims to remain open until Columbus Day, Ms. Manning said.

NONPROFIT NOTES: Sign up for annual Ruck4HIT event

Heroes In Transition will hold its sixth annual Ruck4HIT. Kicking off at 6 a.m. April 30 and ending at noon on May 2, the Not Your Ordinary Ruck4HIT Challenge Weekend will allow people to participate either in person in Mashpee or virtually from anywhere in the world. People can register as an individual, or create a team at www.heroesintransition.org. The deadline to sign up for the race is 11:59 p.m. on April 5. “This year, we already have over a dozen teams who will be competing in a variety of ways,  Ruck4HIT co-organizer Steve Spencer said. Some will be running with rucksacks, while others are creating their own challenge, from walking to running to bicycling to kayaking to even playing pickleball. The great part about this year’s event is people get to choose how they want to participate while giving back to individuals who are serving and have served our country.”
